Hurricanes and Floods

JOHN 15:13

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends"

September is here with the 'dog days' of August and the hurricane season. We are all saddened and inspired by the events happening in Texas and Louisianna this past week with the arrival and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Seeing God work in such a powerful and meaningful way in the lives of so many people just fills us with awe. The speedy actions of so many people who risked their lives to save their neighbors just wows us.

The people of St Christophe, Haiti know the pain of losing everything you own and the struggle to find shelter from the storm and the hardships of rebuilding your life. Even though we don't have any monetary help to send your way, please know that our hearts are with you and your loved ones.

We also want to take a minute to acknowledge the people of South Asia who are also experiencing major floods that came with a high death toll. Although the news coverage has not been as thorough, we know God is also working there in the hearts and minds of the people.

Our prayers are with everyone affected in all of these floods for a speedy recovery and that God's will may be done in each life and in every community.

Already there is another major hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean. Please join us in asking God to blow it back out to sea. May Irma never make landfall on any shore.

The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.
